I am a 56-year-old mother and grandmother, and I have been a proud resident of Peckham for over 50 years.
In my adolescent years, I rebelled against my parents' parenting, a decision I now regret. From ages 13 to 18, I was labelled as a troubled child and placed under the care of the local authority and despite completing my education without qualifications, this period taught me invaluable lessons about life, self-confidence, and the detrimental effects of decisions on mental health and well-being. I attended Ivydale Primary School, Gloucester Primary School, and Peckham Girls.

In April 2004, I had a life-altering experience when I became a Christian. As a member of Kings Church Catford, I am an integral part of the Pastoral support team and a youth leader. Leveraging my life experience, I support young people and families in addressing issues such as youth violence and sexual exploitation of women and girls.
I established the charity Safe N Sound Youth Project in Peckham, with the support of Harriet Harmen, who opened doors of opportunity for me. To better understand the root causes affecting our communities and issues relating to young people, I offer my expertise to various services, including social services, probation, local and national authorities, government, schools, and the Metropolitan Police.

I have the power to represent all residents. Unlike MPs tied to a party, I am free to prioritise your needs and concerns. No matter who you vote for, I will ensure that you feel represented and heard. Together, we will make decisions that benefit our community. I am dedicated to representing the interests of the people of Peckham.

While I am open to working with other parties, it's time to change the status quo in this long-standing Labour ward. It's time for the people to elect an independent MP.

Vote for Jennifer Blake, the candidate who truly represents the people. With your support, we will make history and bring about the change our community deserves.
